Up in the Mountains

Most of our time spent in the mountains happened at the cabin and in Cloudcroft. It is such a relaxing place, that you really don't need to do much of anything. We took many hikes to the park and into the forest. Logan was very excited that he climbed a mountain all by himself! :) We also went to town every afternoon for ice cream and took trips to the library for books. Logan loved being able to borrow as many books as he wanted and take them home in his green bag. It was great because we didn't have to bring books from home and they were all new to him. The library lady and Logan became great friends during this trip. I am sure we will be back MANY more times too! My favorite time of the day was nap time!! I either took naps while the boys were resting, or spent time on the big back porch reading Twilight, (I am finally addicted to this series!!) It was just so quiet and peaceful being able to sit out there and not hear anything except for the birds! The boys enjoyed the porch too and played out there for hours at a time. The last day we were there, grandma gave them rice to play with. Let's just say there was rice EVERYWHERE, but at least grandpa could just blow it right off!! And, Spencer's favorite toy the entire trip was the Dust Buster!! As Logan was making a mess, Spencer was cleaning up behind him!! :) The boys and I were so glad we were able to spend this relaxing time with my parents, before the stress of school starts! We missed Stephen, but can't wait to take him up there next time! I know he will fall in love with it too!! I have a feeling we will spend lots of time there and make many wonderful memories over the years at the cabin!! Can't wait!! :)

Jodi, you are SO blessed to have this little family retreat! I am bursting with envy!! I think I even got lost in my thoughts while reading, and thought I was on that porch hearing nothing but the birds! SO enjoyable. Love the pics, your family will make sweet memories there for years to come! The boys are precious as ever, and are so handsome. Love it. Good luck with your school year! :)

Sorry, I just noticed I have not been signing my comments lately! Need to add that besides the cabin looking fantastic, I love the pic of Tish standing in front of her "TEXAS STAR" door! Yea, let them know you are a proud Texan!
