Baby Dedication

"I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him. So now I give him to the LORD. For his whole life he will be given over to the LORD." And he worshiped the LORD there." 1 Samuel 1:26-28

Today was a very special day because it was Baby Dedication day at our church and we dedicated Spencer. In our church Baby Dedication doesn't mean we are baptizing him, it basically means we are making a promise to the Lord to raise our child in a Godly way, until he makes the decision on his own to follow Jesus. We are also promising to raise him in the ways of God and not according to our own ways. I pray I will show them everyday God's ways and HIS truths, so that they will make the decision to except Christ into their own lives when they are ready. I pray both my boys grow up to be Godly men and leaders of their own homes one day as well. I know Spencer is only 8 months and Logan is only 2 1/2, but it is never to early to teach them about God's amazing love. And, today Stephen and I made a promise in front of God and our congregation that we will be the kind of parents that HE wants us to be and that the boys will know that God is the center of our home & hearts. :)
