Gingerbread Man Party
A few weeks before Christmas break, some of the teachers at my school decided to have a Christmas party for our own kiddos. We usually get our kids together in the summer time while we are off, but we decided it would be fun to do it once a month during the year too! My friend Mindi (who is a second grade teacher at my school,) and I hosted this month in my classroom. We came up with a cute Gingerbread theme to celebrate the holiday. We had different stations set up around the room for the kids that included: cookie making, gingerbread play-doh/cookie cutters, gingerbread hats, gingerbread craft, gingerbread man pictures and hand-print Santa art. We also read "The Gingerbread Man" story and had a book exchange as well. The kids had a blast just playing in my Kindergarten classroom too. The computers and home living center were a big hit! :) It is always a big treat for my boys to come up to my school and I was glad we squeezed in some time during the hectic holiday season! Next month our wonderful P.E. teachers are hosting a snowman party in the gym! It is awesome that my sweet teacher friends have children my kids ages and that we are able to have good times outside of school hours! :)
