Freedom is Cool 7/4

My parents live on a ranch and have many acres of land. In the last couple of years, my dad has sold and developed a good portion of his property to build a beautiful neighborhood community. Even before the neighborhood was there, it was a tradition around the 4th of July to put American flags out in front of the ranch. Well, he still continues to put flags up, but now they line the entrance of Bella Charca (the neighborhood my dad developed.) The kids had the opportunity this year to help their grandpa and Franklin (my dad's helper,) put up flags. It was a neat way to teach the kids about our countries flag and the reason why we celebrate this special day! Spencer didn't really have a clue what was going on, but had fun running around like a big boy!! Logan on the other hand felt very proud of what he had done and every time we drove by he would say "look at the pretty flags I put up!!" I was sad I didn't take any pictures of us on the 4th at our family reunion or of us watching fireworks from the house. But, I was glad I was able to capture a little American spirit from my dad and the kiddos!! :)

I thought that was Franklyn! I have not seen him in so many years, since he retired from my school. Next time you see him tell him I said hello.
I love the pics of the kids putting up the flags. How special that will be year after year for them to continue John's tradition.
