Today Logan went to his very first "big" boy dentist appointment. I took him to a pediatric dentist when he was around two, but we ended up paying out the wazoo for it. Plus, they didn't even take x-rays or really clean his teeth. I think it was more of an exposure type of an experience when we last went. Well, since then I haven't really found a pediatric dentist that was in our network, so I decided to talk to our family dentist . I had an appointment last week and asked if they worked on small kids and they said yes! One thing I love about our dentist is that the staff is super friendly and the dentist is the one who actually cleans our teeth every time. In my past experiences, the dental hygienist usually does all the work and then the dentist comes in for 5 seconds to take a look. Well, at this place Dr. Stasney does everything and the super friendly assistant helps with the small stuff. Logan did such a great job and wasn't apprehensive about anything. He got right up in the moving chair and did everything they asked of him. They didn't do the full x-rays, but they did get him to do at least two. And, they picked, brushed, flossed and painted his teeth with tarter protection! He was so cute laying quietly with his mouth wide open. I would have loved to known what he was thinking about at the time!! :) I was just chuckling the whole time because his facial expressions were just priceless! After we got done, he got to pick out two prizes for being such a big boy!! He was also excited about his new Shrek toothbrush and SpongeBob toothpaste! I was just pleased that it was a happy experience and not a scary one for him. He is so funny because he is already talking about the next time he gets to go back!! (He is not like mommy in this department, I HATE going to the dentist!!) :)

You are so great at capturing these first moments! I'm so glad he had a good "first" dentist experience. I'm like you- I hate going to the dentist!
AMEN! XRays make me gag! What a fearsome fellow you are Logan. Grandma is real proud. Pictures are great. I'm sure the staff was in stitches watching YOU! Mom
