Loaded up and ready for the Safari Ride!

Spencer wanted to be like his big brother and sit all by himself on the bench!
The boys were FASCINATED by how close they were to the animals!

(I love this picture with Logan's arm around Spencer! Too CUTE!!)

Spencer is my little animal lover! He was trying to squirm out of my arms the entire ride, to get to all the animals! He was DETERMINED to get down and off of the ride! :)

The camel feeding/petting was my favorite part. There was even a 6 day old baby camel with her mama, but we didn't get a picture of them. They were PRECIOUS!!

Squirmy Boy!!

Spencer imitating the camels eating!! SILLY BOY!!

The bucket train ride was a highlight of the trip for Logan. He went all by himself and sat in a bucket with another little boy that he didn't know! I was proud of him for wanting to do this all by himself! :)

Logan and "Boy We Don't Know!" :) Although, Logan was very social and introduced himself right away and then proceeded to show him his shoes. I don't know what that was all about, but three year olds crack me up!!

Petting the albino baby kangaroo!

Up close and personal with the baby camels!

Spencer literally kissing the camel on his mouth!! Is there such a thing as Camel Flu??

My sweet little Sugar Monster!!

LOVING the FREEDOM!!

After the ranch, we headed to Prairie House to meet Papa Don and Grammy for lunch! YUMMY!!`

I have been wanting to go to Sharkarosa Wildlife Ranch, since I first heard of it a couple of months ago. My friend told me about it and then one of my students in class actually went too. We haven't been able to go until today because of rain or our busy schedules the last couple of weeks. So, I was very excited to finally get to take the boys out there today! (It is only open to the public on Saturdays and private parties on reserved days.) It is located in Pilot Point north of Denton, off of 380. It actually got an award for the best animal encounter experience for kids, in the county. When we pulled up, it looked like we were in someones backyard. It is basically a big ranch, where they rescue exotic animals that can't take care of themselves in the wild. It is such a neat place because you basically get to be close and touch every animal on the property. We LOVED the Safari Ride, where the animals came right up to us! I have never been that close to a camel before, which was really cool! Logan was pretty quiet the whole time, soaking it all in. And, Spencer on the other hand was a WILD man trying to get down with the animals. I seriously could feel his heart racing because he was SO excited to be that close to animals!! When we got done, we walked around the property and Logan took his bucket train ride. We only spent about an hour and a half there, but we had a BLAST!! I highly recommend Sharkarosa to all you mommies!! It is smaller and less expensive than a traditional zoo and your kids get to encounter some really awesome animals! You can check out their website at
http://www.sharkarosa.com/ to learn more about the place! After the ranch, we met Papa Don and Grammy at a yummy restaurant called Prairie House off of 380. Stephen and his family headed to Top Golf after lunch, but the boys and I headed home for a nap! They were exhausted and both were asleep before we reached I35, (all I had to do was take them straight to their beds when we got home!) Let's just say I had a peaceful afternoon to myself!! :)
