Club Nikon

I am so excited to announce that my sweet husband gave me a wonderful early Mother's Day present last night! He surprised me with a Nikon D5000 camera, that I have been wanting for a long time! I have asked him for any type of Nikon way before Christmas. He told me that I didn't need a big bulky camera and that I wouldn't use it, (even though I take pictures every day!) Well, I have kind of given up on the idea and thought we would trade in our Sony for another one soon, but had know idea I would ever get this camera that I have been wanting. Even yesterday before he gave it to me, we were talking to each other from work about ideas for our Mother's. He even tried to act like he hadn't got me a present yet and that he was wanting ideas from me too! Well, the little stinker already had an idea, but just wanted to throw me off! After rocking Spencer to sleep last night, I told him I was going to take a bath, (since my back has really been killing me lately!) Well, when I walked into the room I noticed a lot of stuff on the bed. I didn't really pay attention to it at first, but when I took a better look I noticed it was my camera!! I screamed so loud and was completely surprised!! Stephen has surprised me before, but not like this!! I truly didn't think I would get this camera, (even though Cara told me I would!) It is going to take me some time to read the manual and play around with it for awhile, before I totally understand what I am doing. But, I am so looking forward to practicing this weekend!! I guess now I am part of the DSLR club too! (A friend from Cara's blog wrote about this yesterday!!) Thanks again hubby, I absolutely LOOOOOVE my new camera!! Happy Mother's Day to ME!! :)
