All Aboard!

One of my most favorite Christmas stories! I still remember my librarian reading this book to us in elementary school. (It probably was the year it came out!) :)

I was so surprised he ran straight to the front, when the announcer called all kids to the stage! My baby is becoming such a big boy! :) Sniff, sniff! We are definitely dressing in PJ's next year! Aren't all the kids so cute??

Logan was so excited to go for a ride on a BIG train!! (Even though we talked about the Polar Express and read the book the night before, he still kept calling it Thomas the Train ride. Maybe next year, he will get it a little more!) :)

The boys were SO excited to meet Santa!!

This past Saturday my friend Cara and I took our boys to the Vintage Railroad Station in Grapevine for a ride on the Polar Express. Everyone knows that I love holiday activites, so when Cara asked if we wanted to buy tickets for this event I was very excited! This was very special to me because it was based on my favorite Christmas books, The Polar Express. And, I was excited to take Logan on a train ride, since trains are one of his favorite things! Let me start off by saying that the downtown Grapevine area is adorable this time of year!! Up and down the streets we saw lights, a gingerbread house, a manger scene, and Rudolph greeting shoppers. Since I had both boys by myself, I decided we better just stick around the railroad station. :) But, maybe we can go back sometime with our daddy or grandparents and enjoy more of the festivities! Did I mention I LOVE this time of year??
Anyway, when we finally arrived at the station, we met up with Cara and Landon. We then headed inside a big cozy tent to wait for our train ride. Inside the tent the kids sang Christmas songs and Logan even went on the stage to sing "Jingle Bells," with a group of children. I was so surprised that he did that all by himself, without me. My little baby is turning into a big boy!! It was really precious to watch. After the singing, we headed for our train ride. On the way to the train they had fake snow falling and there was Christmas trees lining the fences. It was beautiful and I wish I had taken pictures. It was a little difficult with Logan running in front of me and Spencer on my hip! When we boarded the train, we found great seats that faced each other and the boys sat right down. You should have seen how still and quiet they were. They loved the decorations, music and the BIG window they got to sit by. Landon and Logan were so good the whole train ride and just sat and looked out the window. Spencer on the other hand got hungry, so I had to feed him jars of baby food on the train. (Thank you Cara for helping me juggle little Spence! You looked like such an natural with two!) On the train ride, the conductor read The Night Before Christmas, we sang more Christmas songs and Santa even stopped by to say hello! :) The kids started singing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town," while he walked down
and greeted everyone. It was so cute to see the grin on Logan's face, when he saw Santa. He kept screaming, "Santa, Santa!" The ride was fun, but I think it would be more magical at night with all the lights. We also talked about dressing the boys in their PJ's like the kids in the story. I just can't wait to make this a yearly tradition! :) After we got off the train, Logan bounced in the train bounce house and then we left for Fuddrucker's. Cara and I were so EXHAUSTED after we left the train station. The boys were great, it is just A LOT of work with three boys under the age of 2 1/2!! At one point I thought how crazy I was for taking them out there by myself, but I know the boys had a blast and that made it so worth it. Plus, I love hanging out with my friend Cara!! Once we got to Fuddrucker's we were finally able to talk a little bit, while the boys ate their lunch. I think they were all almost asleep as they ate! Thank you Cara for such a fun day and we will for sure do it again!! It was such a wonderful start to the holidays and a memory we will never forget!
