Beautiful Balloons

This past weekend we had the opportunity to go to the Plano Balloon Festival with some of our good friends. My friend Cara has been the last few years and she has always talked about how fun it is. I have wanted to go for the longest time, but it has never worked out. Well, I talked to my friend Kat who grew up in Plano and she said it was really great too. So, we decided to meet her and Brad out there Saturday night. I was really excited to take Logan to the balloon festival, but wasn't sure how Spencer would do. Especially since he has a double ear infection and isn't feeling the best. Well, when we got out there I wasn't expecting it to be as crowded as it was. It really is a big deal and it seems like everyone in Plano and the surrounding area showed up for this big weekend. Besides the amazing hot air balloons, the festival also has great food, sky divers, craft booths, bounce houses and a fireworks show. Well, we didn't quite get to experience all of the fun, since it was ridiculously crowded. We tried to go and get some food and go to the kiddie area, but couldn't get through the thousands of people. So, we found the nearest lemonade stand and headed back up the hill to watch the balloons take off. (You should have seen Stephen trying to maneuver the double stroller up the hill! :) Anyway, the balloons and skydivers were amazing and Logan was in awe. It really does give me the chills to see a ton of hot air balloons floating up in the sky. I wish we could have stayed later to watch them glow, but Spencer was having a melt down and we all were hungry. So, we decided to head to El Fenix for dinner instead of waiting in the LONG lines at the fair. Maybe next year we can find a time to go back and really enjoy it. But, I am just glad I can say I have been there this year. And, we had a blast hanging out with our wonderful friends Brad & Kat. Thank you guys for going with us and helping out with the boys!
