The World of "Thomas!"

Thomas, Percy,Salty and Billy!
Even though Logan has a train table, he will drag his track anywhere!

Logan playing at his train table!
Grandma bought Logan some Thomas bedding for his birthday!
When I had Logan, I didn't know much about little boys. I always thought I would have little girls who played with Barbie dolls, like I did when I was little. Well, the past two 1/2 years I have learned so much about the boy "world." And, one of the things my little boy is obsessed with is Thomas the Train. This big obsession started last Fall, when Toys r Us sent us a blue Thomas the Tank Engine in the mail. I wondered why they had sent us a free train and thought it was rather nice of them. Instantly Logan fell in love with his new little friend and took it everywhere he went. Since that day Logan and I started seeing Thomas stuff everywhere!!! I guess we weren't paying much attention before. :) We would go to Barnes and Noble to read and all he wanted to do was play at the train table with his Thomas. The child would kick and scream every time he would have to leave. Then, he would start noticing things like Thomas pj's at Target and would want to have them. At, Christmas we decided to have his grandpa make him a train table and start a little collection for him, since Thomas was his only train. Well, I never realized how expensive one little wooden train could be. You can find some for around $12.00, but most are about $20.00. Plus, you have to have the track and all the "accessories." Luckily,he got a lot of stuff from his grandpa, grandma, aunt Jennifer and Christi! :) This summer Logan has also been enjoying watching Thomas DVDs, reading Thomas books and playing with his trains 24/7!! And, I can't get the silly songs out of my head!!! I feel like we live on the Island of Sodor! :) Plus, when he watches the videos and reads the books, he wants more trains to add to his collection. Logan is dying to have a Gordon and a James, but I told him he will have to wait until Christmas for some more. Looking back, I see how smart Toys r Us was to send us that little Thomas train. And, as you can see their little marketing strategy worked in our household!! Choo!! Choo!!!! :)
