It's a Boy!

Yesterday we went to our sonogram and by the grace of god we made it. There was a tanker truck burning on the highway right before the bridge to get to Lewisville. Christi was driving me there, (thank you Christi) since I couldn't drive after surgery. And, Stephen and his mom were meeting us at the doctor's office. Well, when we got on the highway, it was shut down and every car had to exit Swisher road, which was a mess! It was 2:30 at the time and I probably was making Christi sick, with how nervous I was to get there. I finally found a back way through neighborhoods, that a lot of people don't know of, but we got to the doctor's by 3:20 which was a miracle. Most people were stuck in traffic for hours if you listened to the news and talked with people. I feel bad now because we found out this morning that the driver had died because he was burned at the scene and the passenger was in serious condition. Both, have wives that are pregnant too. It makes me sad because I was so consumed with how bad the traffic was and my own situation, that I wasn't stopping to think of how this horrible accident was going to cause heartbreak in many peoples lives. Please pray for this family that has lost a son, husband and father. And, the other family who has to deal with a son, husband, father who is severely burned and in critical condition.

Well, the good news for the day is that we found out that we are going to have another baby boy! We are very excited and I hope the two boys will be close since they will only be 2 years apart. Plus, we don't really have to buy much of anything, which I know my husband loves. I truly feel blessed that the baby is healthy and doing well, especially since I had surgery and other things come up during this pregnancy. Also, we have planned to name him Spencer Russell Kleppe. Russell is Stephen's middle name and his mom's maiden name. Spencer will have the same initials as his daddy, SRK. Cute I know! We will keep you posted on how everything else goes with this pregnancy. Pray this one goes full term!! Also, sorry for the quality of the sonogram pictures, I don't have a scanner, so I just took a picture of a couple! :)

We saw the accident on the news in South Padre! It was terrible.
Congratulations on our little boy -I can't make "heads" or "tails" of the picture but we are so excited. I'm praying for a full term baby - can hardly wait for your arrival Spencer! Love you so much already.

It was quite an experience to be there for the sonogram. Not only was it exciting to find out what sex he was but to hear her say, "Here's his heart - it looks normal, here's his spine - it looks normal - he's developing right on schedule. By the way, he's 10 inches long right now. It was always a blessing to me to have my boys two years apart which is what these guys will be. Jonathan and Stephen were close - not that they didn't have their moments, but they always had each other's backs and they still do. Jodi, you are sensitive to remember the families of the two men in the accident. As the families have to deal with this tragedy in their lives, we are reminded that we are indeed blessed to have gotten the good news about Spencer.
