Alphabet Soup

The last almost 11 months, have been a roller coaster ride. Especially when it comes to feedings. I remember when Logan barely took 2 ounces of milk at a time and now he is downing 32-34 ounces a day. Also, I can recall when we first introduced him to baby food, he wasn't quite sure how to eat from the spoon and most of the baby food got all over him. Just when he started becoming a pro at eating his baby food and I was comfortable buying what he liked, he transitioned into another phase of his food development. He now loves to eat "real" table food and has been refusing the spoon feeding from me. He started out slowly, only taking certain textures and types of food. Now, he is getting good at eating most anything you put down. His new entertainment is sitting in his highchair for up to 30 minutes self feeding food to himself. He just squeals in delightment when he see the cheese bag come out of the refrigerator. Well, tonight I opened the can of Alphabet soup, not sure if he would like it. He hasn't always been a huge fan of the green stuff! :) But, in amazement I watched him gobble down the peas, carrots, green beans and noodles from the soup. I think he must have eaten more than half of the can when it was all said and done. It has been so much fun watching him taste new foods for the first time.
I know our food journey is far from over and we have more obstacles to come (weaning from the bottle will be our next one.) Yikes! But, it has been exciting time for me to watch him grow and develop from stage to stage. I am so blessed to have such a happy and healthy baby boy!
