Having a great time playing with all the toys and clueless to what is about to happen next!

"NOT so sure about this thing!!"

" Ok, not so bad!!"

"What are you looking at mom?"

Yesterday we finally got Spencer's cranial cap in! We have been fighting with insurance to cover the DOC band for months, but they still won't budge. They argue that it is cosmetic and not medically necessary. I know that is not true and I have talked with a lot of people who say that their insurance did cover most of it. It is just frustrating because I know it is something that is best for him, especially since our pediatrician pointed it out to us. So, we ended up doing it anyway and will deal with insurance later. We were starting to run out of time, since his sutures in his head will start to grow together soon. And, after they are fused together, the DOC band is useless. So, Stephen and I head to Cranial Technologies yesterday morning for Spencer's BIG day!! We were a little nervous that he was going to HATE it, since he his is on the older side for babies who wear these. But, just like everyone said beforehand, he did GREAT!! He messed with it a little right when it was put on, but really hasn't noticed it since. It is funny because all the babies in his class come up and touch it, but it doesn't faze him at all. We have been taking it off every 3/4 hours since yesterday, making sure his skin wasn't irritated by it. But now, he is wearing it for 23 hours straight. We only take it off at bath time for around an hour, to clean it and give his head a rest. We will probably be in it for the next 12 weeks and will go for adjustments every two weeks. We know these weeks will fly by and it will all be over soon. I just hope Spencer does great and the outcome is what the doctors are wanting when it is all said and done! :)

I'm SO glad Spencer likes his band! He looks adorable! Insurance stinks...I'm SO sorry they're giving you guys the run around :( UGH!!
I'll miss you at the shower :( I wish we could make it to Logan's birthday. I guess this means we'll just have to make it up another time ;) I miss you so much!! Love you!!
I am so glad he is adjusting to his new cap. He is such a sweet and even tempered little guy. I am glad he only has to wear it for 12 weeks and not through the summer months. CD
That wasn't as bad as we were all expecting. And he has an air hole
to let his head breath! Get it all together and get back with your brother - hopefully the insurance company won't get the last say! You look sweet Spencer.
